A tragic road accident occurred in Hooghly Srirampur Delhi Road Belumar, resulting in the death of a middle-aged woman.
The incident took place at around 7:00 am, when a reckless dumper hit the woman from behind, causing her to be crushed on the spot. The accident happened in front of a traffic police booth, leading to an uproar among local residents. As a result, a protest erupted, with residents burning tires on Delhi Road, causing a major traffic jam.
The situation quickly escalated, and the Srirampur Commissioner deployed a large police force to control the situation. After some time, high-ranking police officials promised to regulate traffic at Belu intersection, and the blockade was lifted. However, the traffic jam persisted for a while due to the blockade.
Local residents expressed their frustration and anger at the lack of proper road safety measures, which led to the tragic incident.
